Travelling takes its toll on the body, especially if you are traveling abroad. Jet lag has adverse effects on the body. It is important to take care of your body and health while you are traveling. It is essential to eat healthy food and get sufficient amount of sleep in order to reduce the effects of travel. Here are a few tips on how to take care of your body and health while traveling abroad.
Try and eat as much fresh food as possible on your trip. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables throughout you're the journey. Apples, bananas, unsalted peanuts, dried apricots etc. have the nutrients that are necessary for your body and helps in keeping you alert and active.
Avoid drinking alcohol and aerated drinks, as they will make you feel thirstier. Do not eat food that is high in salt content, as they will result in swollen ankles and feet.
Jet lag can result in dehydration, fatigue and hunger. Try to keep your meal timing constant and eat as little as possible after dark. While traveling, eat small portions and eat slowly.
No matter how you are traveling, ensure that you use a pillow to support your neck. Use a washable pillowcase that is soft so that your skin does not get creased.
You could even wear a sleep mask on the journey. Most of them are made from soothing herbs that will reduce puffiness and some have a cooling effect. Using these will ensure that you look better after a long journey.
If you can sleep during your journey, use a little eye cream under your eyes and a small amount of light night cream. This will ensure that your skin is refreshed and relaxed when you wake up. Follow these simple tips and you will feel and look much better even after a long journey.
